🌼 Honoring a Time-Honored Grossmont Tradition 🌼
Before Grossmont High School's graduation ceremony, Grossmont Union High School District Superintendent Dr. Kirsten Vital Brulte had the opportunity to pose for photos with this year's Daisy Chain participants—50 outstanding juniors selected for one of the school's highest honors.
Since 1936, graduating seniors have been led into the ceremony by students carrying the Daisy Chain, an 90-year tradition crafted from historic ivy planted on campus in the 1920s—still growing today in the lower quad—and white daisies. The Daisy Chain symbolizes the connection between generations of Foothillers and the passing of leadership from seniors to juniors.
Guided by Daisy Chain advisors Matt Flisher and Kristen LoPrell, Grossmont High School's teaching staff selected these exceptional juniors based on their scholarship, citizenship, and involvement in school activities. Being chosen for the Daisy Chain is the highest honor awarded to juniors and reflects their dedication to excellence both inside and outside the classroom.
Congratulations to these remarkable students for carrying forward a tradition that has been a cherished part of Grossmont High School's commencement ceremony for nearly nine decades.
