Lewisville ISD renames one of its elementary schools after first African American elected to Board of Trustees NAME CHANGE: Lewisville ISD voted to rename one of its schools to honor the first African American member of the school's board.

Today, we received some incredible news. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this amazing journey. Every coach, teammate, family member, friend, mentor, and supporter has played a role in helping Zuri and Azizi reach this moment.

We were informed today that the NCAA has taken possession of their game jerseys, as they may be considered for retirement.

What makes this honor even more special is that across the entire history of modern college football, only five documented sets of brothers have ever started together as the left and right “bookend” tackles on the same offensive line.

The five bookend brother duos are:
1. Zuri & Azizi Henry – UTEP Miners (2023)
2. Bruce & Clay Matthews Jr. – USC Trojans
3. Jerry & Jon Knoll – Washington Huskies
4. Tom & John Moore – Western Michigan Broncos
5. Max & Jake Wray – Ohio State Buckeyes

To be mentioned alongside these families is truly humbling. We are grateful, proud, and thankful for everyone who helped make this journey possible.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH - The Babies Bravery

On November 14, 1960, four six-year-old Black girls—Ruby Bridges, Leona Tate, Gail Etienne, and Tessie Prevost—integrated New Orleans public schools, marking a critical turning point in desegregating Southern education. Ruby Bridges attended William Frantz Elementary, while Tate, Etienne, and Prevost integrated McDonogh 19, braving fierce protests and threats.
