To understand the significance of Juneteenth, we must be courageous in facing the truth about slavery in America, the anti-Black racism that it spawned and perpetuated, and the resulting racial and economic injustice that persist over 160 years later.

While today we celebrate the fight for freedom and justice, today also serves as a reminder that our work is far from over.

To host major events on campus that are open to the general public, university guidelines require a $2,000 venue fee.
