We’ve seen so much change and upheaval this year that it is dizzying.
The world has felt upside down. Although has it ever felt right-side up?
I often remind our staff and faculty that Manna University is not a church, but we are part of THE Church. Moreover, we serve the local church. It’s a core value.
When Jaemi and I were first married, I would occasionally get motivated and decide to surprise her by doing something helpful. Wash the dishes. Change a diaper. Do something around the house. Then, she would ruin it by asking me to do it first.

Day 3 in the Dominican Republic, and what an incredible experience it has been so far. 🇩🇴❤️
It has been such a blessing to serve alongside the amazing Manna U team. Every day, I’ve watched them intentionally love people, serve with humility, and reflect the heart of Jesus with no strings attached—simply because that’s what His love looks like.
From worshiping together, to building relationships, to seeing smiles on faces throughout the community, God has been moving in powerful ways. We’re grateful for every conversation, every opportunity to serve, and every reminder that His love knows no borders.
Thank you for your prayers. We’re excited to see what God continues to do in the days ahead.

We’ve only been in the Dominican Republic for a short time, and already God is moving in amazing ways. 🇩🇴
Last night was our first team briefing followed by this morning’s local church service that was incredibly powerful. You could feel the joy, passion, and love they have for Jesus the moment you walked through the doors. Worshiping together, despite our different backgrounds and languages, was such a beautiful picture of God’s family.
We can’t wait to see what the rest of this week holds. Stay tuned—there’s so much more to come!

Not all theology survives contact with reality.
What I mean is that theology can sound clear in a classroom or feel settled in familiar environments. Yet, once you step into a place that doesn’t share your assumptions, your pace, or your resources, what you believe gets tested quickly.
