Happy birthday…to us! Today, March 18th, marks the 25th Anniversary of FIRST. In 1989, inventor Dean Kamen founded FIRST to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology.

25 years later, the FIRST Mission remains the same, while the modern job market has undergone a dramatic transformation. Now, more than ever, there is an indisputable need for our youth to discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and apply this knowledge as they enter the STEM-saturated workforce of tomorrow.

In honor of our 25th anniversary, FIRST wants to put the spotlight on YOU! Record a short (30-60 seconds) video explaining what you think FIRST should be like 25 years from now. Post your video to YouTube with the title “Happy Birthday FIRST!” Share your video with us by posting the link in the comments here. OR, describe your FIRST experience in 25 words or less in a comment below.
