🏕️ Throwing it back to our very first Camp Preschool! 🏕️
One of our favorite memories was watching our campers discover the joy of playing in tents. From imaginative adventures and cozy reading nooks to making new friends, those simple tents became the setting for so many wonderful moments.
We’re loving reminiscing about where our camp traditions began and all the fun we’ve shared along the way. ❤️⛺
Fayetteville First UMC Preschool
FFUMC Preschool provides a caring and playful learning environment grounded in Christian beliefs.
And just like that, Camp Preschool has come to an end! 🐻⛺✨
Yesterday we went hunting for adventure—and found it around every corner! From bouncing our way through inflatable fun to exploring the playground and joining in a lively storytime with “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”, our campers finished the week with smiles, laughter, and memories to last all summer.
We’re so proud of all the exploring, creating, learning, and growing our campers did this week. Thank you to our families for sharing your little adventurers with us. Until next time... we’re not scared! We’re going on a bear hunt! 🌿🐾💚
🏕️ Camp Preschool Day 4: Light, Shadows & Campfires! ☀️🔥
Today our campers explored the magic of light and shadows while learning all about campfires and camp cooking. We put our culinary skills to the test by making solar s’mores and creating our own delicious trail mix!
One of our favorite parts of play-based learning is watching children transform simple loose parts into extraordinary creations. A collection of materials might become scrambled eggs for breakfast one moment, and a towering birthday cake the next—complete with a chorus of “Happy Birthday” for every friend in the room! 🎂✨
When children are given open-ended materials and the freedom to create, they develop creativity, problem-solving skills, language, collaboration, and imagination. We love seeing the stories and ideas our campers bring to life each day.
Keep checking back here to see what adventures Camp Preschool Day 5 will bring! 💛🏕️
💦☀️ Camp Preschool Day 3: Water Day! ☀️💦
Today was all about splashing, scooping, pouring, and exploring! Our campers stayed cool while engaging in hands-on water play that sparked curiosity, creativity, and plenty of smiles. From water tables and sensory activities to soaking up the sunshine with friends, every moment was filled with laughter and learning.
There’s nothing quite like a summer day spent making a splash! 🌊🩵
🐝 Day 2 of Camp Week was all about our buzzy little friends—the bees!
We were thrilled to welcome Ms. Kerry Bleil, our resident bee expert, who taught us all about the important role bees play in our world. Our campers got to try on real beekeeping gear, explore tools like a smoker and bee brush, examine honeycomb up close, and even practice "bee-ing" pollinators themselves!
It was a day full of hands-on learning, curiosity, and plenty of buzzing excitement as we discovered how these tiny creatures help our gardens and communities grow. 🌼🍯🐝

🏕️ Camp Week is off to a fantastic start! On Day 1 our little campers were all about our hands-on fun and creativity. We built our very own campfire, painted with marshmallows, and even explored what it feels like to camp out in a tent!
Through play, imagination, and discovery, our campers are learning, creating, and making memories together. We can't wait to see what adventures the rest of the week brings! ⛺🔥🎨

📖 Developmental Nugget! 📖
Do you know how many ways there are to hold a pencil? This is just a short list; our students LOVE to find interesting ways to use the items at hand 🙂. As our kiddos grow, the muscles in their hand continue to develop, beginning in a pincer grasp as early as 10 months and progressing to the dynamic tripod grip around 5 or 6 years old! Even though those muscles are small, there's a lot of working out 💪 and practice to lead up to writing skills.
You can help your student develop the fine motor muscles they'll need to grasp a pencil by manipulating playdough, squeezing clothespins, threading beads, and through creating art!
