We are incredibly grateful to the Drial Foundation Fund at the Community Foundation of Broward, the Florida Park Service, Friends of Birch State Park, the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation, and the Museum of Discovery and Science for creating this beautiful new Coastal Corridor Exhibit and Outdoor Amphitheater at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.
This remarkable space provides our Camp Live Oak children with opportunities to learn about Florida’s unique ecosystems while surrounded by the very habitats they are studying. From mangrove forests and maritime hammocks to Long Lake and coastal wildlife, these interactive exhibits bring environmental education to life.
Beyond being an outdoor classroom, this peaceful setting has already become a place of tranquility and reflection for our campers and staff. We are truly fortunate to have access to such a special space that inspires curiosity, appreciation for nature, and a sense of calm.
Thank you to everyone whose vision and generosity made this project possible. You have created a lasting gift for our community and for generations of young environmental stewards to come.

A great camp day starts with friendships, laughter, and a little friendly competition!
Our Morning Care campers are easing into the day with board games, chess, card games, and plenty of smiles before the adventures begin. These quiet moments help build friendships, encourage problem-solving, and create a welcoming start to each day.
At Camp Live Oak, we believe camp isn’t just about activities…it’s about creating a community where every child feels happy, safe, and excited to be here.
We’re ready for another amazing day in the great outdoors!

A huge thank you once again to the Harry T. Mangurian Jr. Foundation, Inc. for their generous support of Camp Live Oak’s Lil’ Sprouts Program. Their investment helps us connect young children and families with nature through hands-on outdoor experiences throughout the year.
Today, our Lil’ Sprouts welcomed a wonderful group of moms, dads, and their 3- and 4-year-olds for a fun-filled morning at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. Families enjoyed science activities, nature-inspired art, games, fishing, and plenty of time to explore and play together.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing young children discover the outdoors, create with their hands, and build memories alongside their families.
Thank you to the Harry T. Mangurian Jr. Foundation for helping us inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of nature in our youngest environmental stewards.

Another great week of fishing, learning, and outdoor adventure at Camp Live Oak!
We are grateful for the support and partnership we have enjoyed with Fish Florida over the years. Through their commitment to conservation and education, they have helped introduce countless children to the joy of fishing while teaching the importance of protecting Florida’s natural resources.
This summer, Camp Live Oak has applied once again for a Fish Florida grant. While we won’t learn the results until July, we remain proud to continue promoting their mission and encouraging families to support their work.
Fish Florida helps kids learn to fish by providing equipment grants and scholarships, ensuring that more young people have the opportunity to experience Florida’s incredible waterways and develop a lifelong appreciation for conservation.
Thank you, Fish Florida, for your years of support and for investing in the next generation of anglers and environmental stewards. We are proud to share your message and appreciate all you do for Florida’s children.

What a week it has been for our Salty Anglers! 🎣
Their first field trip of the week took them to Wolf Lake for freshwater fishing, and today they headed out aboard the Mary B III into the calm blue Atlantic Ocean with beautiful 82-degree weather and glassy seas.
Each morning, these young anglers spend their time learning fishing skills, practicing patience, and making memories on the water. But the adventure doesn’t stop there. After fishing, campers return to Camp Live Oak for swimming, canoeing, archery, and sports activities that keep the fun going all afternoon.
Most importantly, we’ve had a wonderful group of kids this week. Their enthusiasm, kindness, and excitement for every adventure have made this an especially memorable start to the summer.
From freshwater lakes to the Atlantic Ocean, these campers are experiencing the incredible outdoor opportunities that make South Florida so special.
What a great week at Camp Live Oak. ❤️🌿🎣☀️

Camp begins on Monday, and after months of planning, staff training, and preparation, we are excited to welcome campers for another unforgettable summer at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.
As we celebrate our 38th summer, we are also preparing for our American Camp Association reaccreditation. Camp Live Oak has proudly maintained ACA accreditation for 37 years, meeting more than 350 standards for health, safety, staffing, and program quality, making us one of the few accredited day camps in Broward County.
This past year brought record enrollment for our Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Camps, all with waiting lists, and Summer 2026 is following the same trend. Several age groups for Week One are already at capacity, and enrollment throughout the summer continues to be strong. While openings remain in many sessions, families are encouraged to register early.
We’re especially excited about our new Camp Base Tent, which will provide additional space for activities and rainy days. Most of all, we are grateful to have an exceptional team of returning counselors and staff members ready to make this one of our best summers ever.
Camp Live Oak proudly welcomes children from all walks of life. Through the generosity of our supporters and ongoing fundraising efforts, we have been able to provide scholarships to many families in need. We are especially proud of our commitment to inclusion and the successful mainstreaming of children with autism and other special needs, creating a camp community where every child is valued, accepted, and encouraged to thrive.
For nearly four decades, Camp Live Oak has introduced children to the wonders of the outdoors while fostering friendships, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for nature. Many of our current staff members were once campers themselves, and each year we are touched to welcome former campers who now bring their own children to continue the tradition.
Our popular Salty Anglers Fishing Camp is nearly at capacity for both sessions, so families interested in joining should register soon.
At Camp Live Oak, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to explore, belong, and discover the gifts within themselves.
Registration is still open for many summer weeks.
