Dear Black Belt Candidate,

The time has come to begin preparing for what promises to be the largest and most exciting Black Belt event in IMAA history.

We are proud to announce the IMAA Black Belt Spectacular 2026, taking place on:

🥋 Friday, December 18, 2026

This year we anticipate approximately:

• 20 Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) Candidates
• 4 Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt) Candidates

Earning a Black Belt is not about a single day of testing. It is the result of years of dedication, perseverance, discipline, and personal growth. The Black Belt represents leadership, character, and the commitment to never give up.

To begin this journey together, all candidates and families are required to attend our first candidate meeting:

During this meeting we will review:
• Testing requirements
• Training schedule
• Candidate expectations
• Uniform and weapons requirements
• Volunteer opportunities

Our campers will spend the week learning about Japanese culture while developing the Samurai values of:

This week campers will:

✅ Write their names in Kanji

✅ Participate in exciting team challenges
