🚨 BIG NEWS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA 🐊

Beginning with the Fall 2027 admissions cycle, the University of Florida will officially offer an Early Decision (ED) application option.

Here’s what families need to know:

📌 What is Early Decision?
Early Decision is a binding admissions plan.
This means:
✔️ Students apply early
✔️ Receive a decision earlier
✔️ If admitted, they are committed to attending UF and must withdraw applications from other colleges

📅 Important UF Early Decision Details:
• Applications Open: August 1
• ED Deadline: October 15
• Decision Release: December 11
• Available starting with students applying for Fall 2027 entry

🎯 Who should consider Early Decision?
Students who:
• Know UF is their clear #1 choice
• Have a strong academic profile ready by early senior year
• Feel comfortable committing before comparing all admissions offers

⚠️ Important Reminder:
Because ED is binding, families should carefully think through:
• Financial fit
• Scholarship possibilities
• Academic/program goals
• Overall college list strategy

UF will still continue offering:
✔️ Early Action (non-binding)
✔️ Regular Decision (non-binding)

This is a BIG shift in Florida admissions strategy, and it may change how students approach their college application timeline moving forward.

Families — this is exactly why having a strategic plan matters earlier than ever. 💡

If you have questions about Early Decision, Early Action, building a college list, or planning ahead for middle/high school students, I’m always happy to help guide you through it.

Honored to be part of the 2026 Review Committee for the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium.

This one is personal. Every day, I work with Latino students and families who are navigating a system that was not built with them in mind. Being on the other side of that process, reading their stories, scoring their essays, and helping connect a student to funding, is not something I take lightly.

This year, the HSC received a record 1,092 applications. That number says everything. These students are showing up. The least we can do is show up for them, too.

Grateful for this opportunity. 🤍

🎓 BIG NEWS for families considering highly selective colleges…

Swarthmore College just announced a major financial aid expansion beginning Fall 2027.

Families earning $200,000 or less with typical assets may now qualify for financial aid that covers FULL TUITION.

A few important things families should know:
• Swarthmore will continue meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need
• Financial aid remains completely loan-free
• International students may still qualify for significant aid through a separate process
• Financial aid deadlines match admission deadlines

📅 Key Admission Deadlines:
Early Decision I: November 15, 2026
Early Decision II: January 4, 2027
Regular Decision: January 4, 2027

This is another reminder that highly selective colleges are continuing to invest in affordability and access for students.

Families: don’t assume a school is financially out of reach before understanding how aid actually works.

As always, strategic planning matters early.

✨ I still have a few remaining spots available in my Class of 2027 advising cohort. If your family is looking for personalized support through the college admissions process, let’s connect.

Suffolk University, Boston, just earned a permanent spot on my radar. 🐏💛

I visited and walked away genuinely impressed. Here is what families in Florida and Puerto Rico need to know.

What most people don't know about Suffolk:

🔵 Only 4,500 undergrads. Small enough to know people, big enough to keep meeting new ones.
🔵 Average class size is 23 students. 13:1 faculty ratio. ONE lecture hall on the entire campus.
🔵 Brand new Cybersecurity major launching Fall 2026. Interdisciplinary, blending tech, business, and law. Built from the ground up.
🔵 Studio 73 lets students broadcast LIVE on New England Cable News. Real students. Real news. Real airtime.
🔵 Study abroad costs the same as tuition here. Partner universities worldwide.
🔵 Career Closet gives students three items of professional clothing every visit. Suffolk also funds unpaid internships so students never have to choose between experience and income.

💰 The financial piece (Please read this)
✅ 97-98% of students receive financial aid.
✅ Keep your grades up and Suffolk locks in your tuition. Four years, same price.
✅ BPS and Charter School grads with family income under $75K attend TUITION FREE starting Fall 2026.
✅ First-gen students get an automatic scholarship at admission. No extra application.
✅ International students are considered for merit aid. Most schools skip that.

Do not let the sticker price close the door before you see the real number.

Thank you to Raffi Muroy for staying after the tour to answer every question. Open, honest, and genuinely helpful in every way.

Congratulations to Owen Jaworski on law school. Suffolk clearly shaped you into exactly who you were meant to be.

Questions about Suffolk or building the right college list? I set aside time just for this.
