Generally fair weather expected for the remainder of the day despite a few showers around.

The Lopinot River at the Bridge on Cemetery Street has water again following well-needed rainfall on Thursday 18th June 2026 due to the passage of Tropical Wave #16.

⚠️⛈️ HEAVY DOWNPOURS, THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IN EAST TRINIDAD, SOUTH TOBAGO AS OF 1:38PM

Radar and Satellite data as well as citizen reports indicate that heavy rainfall is ongoing in East Trinidad particularly in Sangre Grande and areas in the vicinity.

Heavy showers are also observed in South Tobago.

Continued scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected , however between 4 to 5PM, rainfall is set to decrease significantly , with only few light showers or rain .

Rain drifts softly through the ancient trees of Lopinot, where time seems to slow beneath emerald canopies. In the hush of falling drops, nature whispers stories older than memory, painting the valley in shades of peace and wonder. 🌧️🍃

Occassional periods of showers are expected with another bulk of long rainy conditions on Sunday.

To say, there is forecast that between now and Sunday, that not one day is expecting a full day of sunshine.

A little more sunshine returns Friday afternoon and Monday after some early morning showers.

⚠️11:20AM - Showers, some heavy and thundery, continue especially across the East-West corridor as Tropical Wave #16 traverses the region.

Gusty winds and street flooding likely in heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall is ongoing across parts of Trinidad as unsettled conditions associated with the passage of Tropical Wave #16.

Conditions are forecast to settle by late afternoon to give a mainly settled night.
