NSU is growing, and so is our impact on healthcare across the country.

We celebrated the opening of our newest campus, the NSU Health Nevada Regional Campus in Henderson, Nevada. The 11th campus in the NSU family is a major step forward in our mission to train the next generation of healthcare professionals.

As the nation's largest educator of healthcare professionals, NSU is bringing its nationally recognized anesthesiologist assistant (AA) program to Nevada, a state facing a significant shortage of anesthesia professionals. Our first cohort of 26 students will begin this summer, gaining hands-on clinical training in state-of-the-art facilities designed to prepare them to be practice-ready from day one.

This is what it looks like when a university shows up for its community and its country. We are just getting started. 💙🦈

Wellness is essential to success in medicine, but it’s often overlooked amid the demands of med school.

At Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Samiksha Prasad is helping change that. As a faculty member in NSU’s Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine, she has developed innovative wellness programs that teach students and faculty and staff members practical strategies to prioritize self-care and well-being.

Learn about Dr. Prasad's work and the difference it is making for NSU's medical community in the latest podcast episode of "Behind the Scenes: How Faculty Bring Learning to Life at NSU."

Happy World Ocean Day. 🌊

The ocean covers more than 70 percent of our planet, drives our climate, feeds billions of people, and protects our coastlines. On World Ocean Day, we celebrate it and reinforce our commitment to protecting it. As Dr. Guy Harvey says, "We are at a critical time."

At NSU Ocean, that commitment is seen every day in our many marine institutes and programs. NSU researchers, scientists, and conservationists are working to advance the marine-science and blue-economy solutions the world’s oceans and coastal communities need right now.

Florida’s coral reefs are facing serious challenges, and NSU researchers are working to help restore them. 🪸

WSVN recently featured the groundbreaking coral propagation and restoration projects happening at NSU Ocean, where scientists are “reproducing” corals to support the future of Florida’s reefs. During this Coral Propagation workshop, NSU scientists hosted other institutions to teach them these coral reproduction techniques and expand conservation efforts even further.

Through research, innovation, and conservation-focused science, these efforts are helping protect marine ecosystems that are vital to our environment and coastal communities.
Watch the story to see how NSU researchers are making an impact beneath the ocean’s surface.

For Karen and Jean Kirsten, service didn’t end when they left the U.S. Army, it simply took a new direction. 🇺🇸🩺

The twin sisters and Army veterans were recently featured by News4JAX as they begin NSU’s Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant program through the university’s Military to Medicine pathway.

NSU was the first in the nation to create this kind of pathway program, designed to help veterans and service members transition into healthcare careers with added support and guidance throughout the admissions process. The program recognizes the incredible skills veterans already bring into healthcare and the growing need for more compassionate, highly trained professionals.

After years of military service, overseas deployments, and Karen’s battle with stage three breast cancer, the sisters are now preparing for careers focused on helping patients through some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

We saved some incredible energy for the final day of commencements!

New York Times-bestselling author Jeffrey J. Selingo took the stage twice today to speak to graduates from the colleges of nursing and osteopathic medicine.

His message that the path forward belongs to those who stay curious, adaptable, and willing to define success on their own terms was the perfect note to close out one of the most exciting commencement seasons in NSU history.

To every single graduate who crossed the stage: you make us incredibly proud. Go change the world, Sharks. 🌍💙

Today NSU Commencement went from the depths of the ocean to the bright lights of the operating room. 🌊🩺

This morning, the legendary Dr. Sylvia Earle, National Geographic Explorer at Large and one of the most celebrated oceanographers on the planet, delivered a powerful address to our arts and sciences and education graduates, reminding them that bold action and deep curiosity can change the world.

In the afternoon, Professor Rowan Parks, immediate past president of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) and a globally respected surgical leader, inspired our college of allopathic medicine graduates as they step into some of the most meaningful professions there are.

To our Sharks who crossed the stage today: Dream big. Work hard. Make waves! 💙🦈
