But that's not all...in addition to these impressive acceptances, the Class of 2026 received an incredible $4.9 million in scholarship offers.

That number is certainly worth celebrating, but perhaps even more important is what it represents. It reflects students who have invested in their academics, pursued leadership opportunities, served their communities, participated in athletics and extracurricular activities, and prepared themselves for what comes next.

It also reflects the partnership that exists between students, families, teachers, and our college guidance team. At Walnut Grove, our college counselors work intentionally to help students discover their gifts, pursue their goals, and navigate the college admissions process with confidence and purpose.

We'd like to recognize our WGCS students that were selected as 2026 delegates for the Palmetto Boys State (PBS) & Girls State (PGS) programs. Olivia Lunderville, Jake Schlosser & Nick Strickland attended the week long camps this summer. The American Legion’s Boys & Girls State programs are a unique way for young men & women to learn about the American system of government and politics by participating in a mock governmental system.

It is an honor to be chosen as a delegate to Boys and Girls State. Rising seniors are chosen as delegates or “citizens” at Boys & Girls State. Those nominated are then interviewed and selected by the local American Legion Post. PBS and PGS consider the program to be as much leadership training as it is an opportunity to learn about and participate in government and politics.

Big Shout out to our 2026 Junior Marshals & Kindergarten Marshals for Graduation. The Junior Marshal honor is awarded to members of the 11th grade class with the highest academic standing. We invite all of our Kindergarten students, who are available to attend, to join us as a flag-bearer during our graduation ceremony as a reminder of the impact a child makes at each stage of life. Special thanks to these students for their service during our 2026 graduation.

Palmetto Girls State ready! Olivia Lunderville is all checked in Girls State & we can’t wait to hear about her experience. She was chosen to represent WGCS by the Fort Mill American Legion Auxiliary.
Additionally, Jake Schlosser & Nick Strickland are representing WGCS at Palmetto Boys State this week chosen by American Legion Post in Fort Mill.

Last week our Class of 2026 seniors gathered around the Spirit Rock one last time.

At our graduation commencement, each graduating senior had the special opportunity to invite a guest speaker to celebrate their journey. The speeches were heartfelt, personal, and a true testament to the accomplishments and character of our graduates.

A big thank you to all who honored our students with such meaningful words this year..

Congratulations to our 2026 Valedictorian, Jessica Gozali & Salutatorian, Megan Orfin. We are excited for both of these exemplary young ladies as they head to college next year, Jessica will be attending Duke University & Megan will be attending Davidson College.
