Honoring the Legacy. Celebrating the Impact. Empowering the Future.
Today, we proudly recognize the incredible work and enduring legacy of National Council of 100 Black Women of America—an organization built on the strength, vision, and excellence of Black women leaders committed to uplifting communities across the nation.
Inspired by the trailblazing foundation of organizations like the National Council of Negro Women, founded by Mary McLeod Bethune, this movement carries forward a powerful legacy of advocacy, education, and service.
We also honor the life and leadership of Dorothy Height, often called the “Godmother of the Civil Rights Movement.” Her decades of service, including her leadership of the National Council of Negro Women, helped shape national conversations around civil rights, women’s empowerment, and economic justice for Black communities.
The National Council of 100 Black Women of America stands firmly on these shoulders—continuing the mission to mentor, advocate, and lead with purpose.
Their work reflects the strength, resilience, and brilliance of Black women—past, present, and future.
We honor your vision.
We celebrate your impact.
We stand with your mission.

I was thinking about this today, because if you’ve ever led a school, you’ve felt this. The loudest voices are often not the ones carrying the heaviest load. The ones in the work, planning lessons, pulling small groups, solving problems, adjusting in real time…they don’t have time to create noise. They are too busy rowing.
But the ones on the sidelines? They have opinions. They question every decision. They stir doubt. They rock the boat.
And if you’re not careful as a leader, you’ll start listening to the noise instead of watching the work.
Here’s the truth. Progress doesn’t come from the people rocking the boat. It comes from the ones rowing, consistently, quietly, relentlessly moving things forward.
So watch closely.
Who is rowing?
Who is moving students?
Who is showing growth?
Who is doing the work when no one is watching?
That’s where your attention goes.
That’s who you protect.
That’s who you build with.
Because a school doesn’t move forward from noise.
It moves forward from people willing to pick up an oar and row.

This event truly exceeded expectations! Attorneys - aspiring, current and retired gathered to re-activate the Issac Anderson Bar Association. The 100 was proud to sponsor this event and have one of our members on the reactivation committee. We look forward to a continued partnership with them and other community groups as we aim to increase community involvement and economic development in SWFL.
