It’s the role of the Master Gardener Volunteers to protect the gardens in our beautiful county, and when we heard about Shawn, a NFM local, being robbed of her 30-year collection of gnomes, we knew we needed to step up and make things right.

We gathered as many as we could in a short time and surprised her on Gulf Coast News with a wheelbarrow full of donations. Let’s just say it was a Gnome Run!

If you’d like to become an MGV and contribute to the community through gardening, please reach out to our coordinator, Sheryl, at [email protected].

And if you happen to have a clip of us on the news, please share it!

Thank you to Ecological Laboratories for hosting the Lee County Master Gardeners for such a highly educational tour of your facility. It was incredible to see the microbes that support healthy water and soil up close under the microscope, and to learn more about the production techniques required to create and distribute these products around the world.
