The Last K*K Hall in Texas is Still Standing | The Last Klavern | Short Documentary 06/16/2026

What was once a place that represented division and exclusion is being transformed into a space for healing, creativity, culture, and community.

As a company rooted in preserving and celebrating Mexican culture through dance, we are honored to be part of the vision for Transform 1012.

We look forward to the day when our dancers, families, and community can call this remarkable place home, a space where stories are shared, cultures are celebrated, and everyone belongs.

The future is beautiful, and we can't wait to dance into it together.

This week, we celebrate SOL Ballet Folklorico, one of Transform 1012’s core coalition members, bringing movement, history, and culture to life through dance.

For years, SOL Ballet Folklorico has inspired Fort Worth audiences with vibrant performances that honor Mexico’s and Latin America’s traditions. Beyond the stage, they teach young people to take pride in their heritage, express themselves through art, and find healing in rhythm, color, and community. Their work nurtures both cultural identity and collective belonging, two essential threads in the fabric of restoration we are weaving together.

At the future Fred Rouse Center for Arts and Community Healing, SOL Ballet Folklorico will help create a space where movement and storytelling bridge generations. From rehearsals to performances, they embody what it means to reclaim history and transform it into joy. Each dance becomes a living act of remembrance and renewal, turning pain into pride and tradition into liberation.

When you give today, The Projects Group will match your gift dollar-for-dollar up to the first $5,000. Your contribution strengthens Transform 1012’s vision of a space rooted in creativity, justice, and belonging.

We extend heartfelt thanks to Freddy Cantu for his years of service and leadership with Transform 1012.

Freddy has served faithfully as Board Secretary since the coalition’s beginning, while also representing SOL Ballet Folklorico as a voting board member.

His dedication, consistency, and passion for community and culture have helped shape the organization’s foundation.

While stepping away from the Board of Directors, we are grateful that Freddy will continue to support the mission as a member of the Advisory Board.

Thank you, Freddy, for your incredible service and impact.

We are honored to stand alongside Roman Ramirez, Co-Founder of SOL Ballet Folklorico, as we continue the journey of reclaiming 1012 N. Main Street.

Partnership is the heartbeat of Transform 1012. When cultural leaders like Roman join the mission, they bring more than just support—they bring the rhythm, the art, and the history of our community. Together, we are ensuring that the Fred Rouse Center becomes a home for the very vibrant cultures that were once excluded from these grounds.

Transformation isn't a solo act; it’s a collective movement to rewrite the narrative of Fort Worth.

True transformation starts at the community level.

Freddy Cantú highlights the power of collective vision — where residents, survivors, artists, and local organizations come together to shape something greater than any one perspective.

“If residents, survivors, artists, and local organizations shape the vision together, the project could demonstrate how grassroots leadership can reclaim spaces and redefine them. Other communities facing tragedy or neglected properties might look to it as a blueprint.”

This work is about reclaiming spaces, redefining their meaning, and demonstrating what’s possible when leadership is rooted in the community itself.

Because lasting impact is built from the ground up.
