Congrats to the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen for being named this year’s Local Association of the Year! OCAPL had an incredible year that included high member participation, impactful philanthropy, innovative education, informative newsletters and fun networking events.

This award is based on the greatest cumulative rating in the following categories: Bulletin/Newsletter, Best Member Communication and Best AAPL Director’s Communication. As always, it was a very close contest, and we are incredibly proud of all 38 of our affiliated local associations. https://bit.ly/3ESk1lq

OCAPL was also recognized in 1993, 1997, 2006, 2016, 2018, 2022 and 2024 as AAPL's Local Association of the Year. We love partnering with OCAPL on the fairly new Oklahoma Energy Institute, which happens for the third time on Dec. 3 in Oklahoma City. Stay tuned for more details!

We can’t wait to celebrate OCAPL and all of our other wonderful award winners during our 72nd Annual Meeting next week in Salt Lake City. https://bit.ly/46lxhO6

Congratulations to Matt Beavers, CPL, for winning the 2025-26 Best AAPL Director’s Communication Award! The message was sent to Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen members in the spring of 2025 and primarily recapped the recent AAPL Board of Directors meeting. AAPL’s advocacy efforts, Annual Meeting, NAPE Summit, AAPL's finances and more were covered in the message. Matt did a great job presenting key items in a clear, objective manner that was easy to read by fellow Oklahoma landmen.

The communication AAPL directors perform is a two-way street and is vital to building a strong network of local associations. Great job, Matt, and thanks to all our directors for the awesome job you do for AAPL and your local association! Learn more about all 38 affiliated local associations. https://lnkd.in/e7TcpynW

We look forward to honoring Matt at our 72nd Annual Meeting next week in SLC! https://bit.ly/46lxhO6

AAPL and NAPE Expo continued our expansion into the growing world of renewable energy by exhibiting at the American Clean Power Association's 2026 CLEANPOWER conference last week in Houston. We loved connecting with AAPL members who work in renewables as well as educating unfamiliar folks about the land profession!

Thanks to all the energy pros who stopped by our booth to pick up our new RE-related swag and brochures and learn more about AAPL and NAPE's renewable energy offerings. And big kudos to Matthew Peters with ENGIE and Clint Emshoff with Peloton for helping us work the booth!

We can’t wait to reconnect with several attendees at our inaugural TERRAWATT Renewable Energy Institute Sept. 24 in Lake Tahoe! https://lnkd.in/g6Kx86Ue

More and more AAPL members are expanding their landwork into the renewable energy space, and AAPL is here to ensure they have the best opportunities possible by providing vital education, legislative advocacy, member-exclusive resources and more.

It's with great enthusiasm that we announce Brent Broussard, CPL, as AAPL’s 2025-26 Face of the Industry Award winner! The award, which is not guaranteed to be awarded yearly, is presented to an AAPL member, local organization or supporting corporation that has represented the public face of the land profession in a positive light like Brent has.

As president of Dudley Land Company, Brent is responsible for managing and overseeing company business for Dudley and its affiliate companies. He started in the oil and gas industry almost 20 years ago by coincidence after learning about what a landman is through the PLRM program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He joined Dudley early in his career as an independent contractor deep in the East Texas piney woods of Nacogdoches. He worked his way up in the company through Dudley’s management training program and eventually settled in Houston.

In 2022, he was awarded the Outstanding Landman of the Year Award by the Houston Association of Professional Landmen (HAPL). Though he can talk your ear off about all things landman and how to make a project a success, he would rather learn about your family and personal interests. Have a good joke? Brent will match it, so get ready to laugh when you meet with him.

Brent has also been a prominent figure in the AAPL and boasts one of the largest networks in the industry. Most relevant to this award, Brent has been running The Land Department Podcast for the last 3 years, which has gained popularity and featured many of the most well regarded people in our industry.

He has been forward-thinking in his proactive approach to being an early entry into supporting the alternative energy industry and his approach to creating an independent in-house staffing group. He has welcomed innovation by developing his own proprietary database software, and again, his investment to his podcast to highlight all aspects of our industry.

We look forward to celebrating Brent and all his contributions to the land profession in two short weeks at our 72nd Annual Meeting in SLC! https://bit.ly/46lxhO6
