A wonderful congratulations to Melissa Danforth, Band Director at Highland Middle School, for her Educational Grant award for the purchase of band tuners and microphones. We are thrilled to support a District who values fine arts and are excited to see the growth in the number of students participating in band. We look forward to "hearing" great things from her students!

Hello Band Parents and Students!

I hope you all are having a great start to your summer! If you are entering the 7th or 8th grade this next year and are using an instrument from the school’s inventory, we will be having our optional summer instrument check out from 5PM-7PM this Thursday, June 11th at the Highland Band Hall. Please enter through the band halls blue doors at the side of the building. This gives your student an opportunity to use their instrument over the summer to practice if they would like to have it. Please feel free to come by any time during that time frame as it should not take a lot of time to check out an instrument for your student. If for some reason you are unable to attend the check out that day but would still like to get your students instrument, please email me ([email protected]) soon and we can figure out a time to get an instrument in your hands.

Please keep in mind that this is for students who are using a school provided instrument and does not apply to the students currently renting from one of the music stores.

What a fantastic Night of Percussion! Percussionists grades 6-12 from HMS, PVMS and SHS showed off why being a percussionist is fun!! It was great seeing our beginners in their very first concert and watching former Hawks as they get ready to move on to bigger and greater things. Congratulations on a great concert! Thank you to Ms. Giba, Mr. Gregory and Mr. Veloz for all the love you pour into these kids from the very beginning. Your passion shines through each of those students on stage!! 🥁❤️🎶
