📌𝗞𝗜𝗦𝗗 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽

The Keller ISD Board of Trustees met on June 11 for its monthly Regular Meeting. Highlights included:

📋 President Birt congratulated the Keller High School State Champion baseball team and thanked members of the Citizens Bond Advisory and District of Innovation committees for their service.

📋 Dr. Wilson shared updates on the Citizens Bond Advisory Committee's work and ongoing discussions regarding the future of the KISD Natatorium.

💵 Federal Grant Entitlement Hearing: District leaders shared plans to use $9.8 million in federal grant funding during the 2026-27 school year to support programs and services for students with specialized needs.

💰 District leaders previewed the proposed 2026-27 budget, which includes a 1% employee raise, increased district health insurance contributions, and a projected surplus.

✅ Trustees approved:
• New principals for Bette Perot Elementary and Parkview Elementary
• Purchases exceeding $25,000, including the removal and replacement of the KISD Natatorium filter system
• An agreement to outsource HVAC and plumbing services
• Renewal of Keller ISD's District of Innovation Plan
• A November special election to fill the vacant Place 6 board seat

📚 Trustees also reviewed proposed updates to library materials policy EFB (LOCAL).

The board’s next Regular Meeting will be Thursday, July 23. Three special meetings are currently scheduled before that time:

📅June 15 – Consideration of a term contract nonrenewal
📅 June 16 – Trustee continuing education
📅 June 25 – Consideration of the 2026-27 budget

Keller ISD’s Citizens Bond Advisory Committee (CBAC) held its final meeting and recommended a potential bond package for voter consideration. The proposal will be presented to the Board of Trustees on July 23, with a possible November ballot election if approved.
