The Career Readiness Center had the joy of partnering with Be|Well this week for an emotional intelligence debrief session with our DPT students!
Using their EQ-i 2.0 results as a starting point, we explored something that does not always get talked about in clinical training: how self-awareness, empathy, relationship-building, and adaptability are not just "soft skills," but core career competencies that shape the kind of clinicians (and colleagues) our students are becoming.
Watching students make the connection between who they are and how they show up professionally is exactly why we do this work. Emotional intelligence is not separate from career readiness; it is at the heart of it.
A huge thank you to Sophia Brockman and the Be|Well team for such a meaningful collaboration. When career development and well-being come together, students win.

Current UNT Health Students: Are you looking for ways to share your experiences and help incoming students? If you are in good academic standing, are a 2nd year student or above, and have 2-3 hours per month available, apply to be a peer mentor!
The UNT Health Peer Mentorship Program connects advanced year and incoming students to help smooth the transition into their new academic program. This is a great way to gain leadership and communication skills and to positively impact the lives of first-year students.
