Raised by immigrant parents, Alejandro Ramirez learned early on that "communication is the gateway to social participation." We are thrilled and honored to be a member of the Tinker Field Research Collaborative's second cohort! This support provides funding for student field research in Latin America, an invaluable component of the professional and intellectual growth of our graduate students. 🌎💙 We look forward with gratitude to continued collaboration with the Tinker Foundation and our cohort of Centers!

The Harn will be closed on Friday, June 19 in honor of Juneteenth. Be sure to join us for our monthly weekend tour when we are back open on Saturday, June 20.

Even though it's summer, we've been staying busy! We were delighted to attend the Recepción de Académicos de AMPEI (Asociación Mexicana para la Educación Internacional) at the Consulate General of Mexico in Orlando! 🇲🇽🌎 Our own faculty Luis Felipe Lomelí, Ariadna Tenorio, and Mary Risner represented the Center and UF, along with Paloma Rodriguez, Director of the Office of Global Learning (UFIC). Mil gracias to the consulate for welcoming us!

UFIC celebrates 10 University of Florida faculty, staff, and students who have been awarded prestigious Fulbright Scholar awards for 2026 to 2027 🌍🎉

These Global Gators will represent UF in nine countries, advancing research, teaching, and international collaboration while serving as ambassadors of cultural exchange. The Fulbright Program is the U.S. Department of State’s flagship international academic exchange program, fostering mutual understanding through global engagement. 🤝✨

Congratulations to all of this year’s Fulbright recipients and their outstanding achievements.
