We are less than one month away from the beginning of Summer Camp at ACAC! 🎨✏

ACAC's 2026 Summer Camp will be four weekly full-day camps for ages 7-12 during the weeks of July 6, 13, 20, and 27 with creative themes across multiple mediums for each week.

Our campers work on skill development for art-specific content and benefit from experienced artist instructors. Campers will practice mediums such as Culinary Arts, Visual Arts, Music and Motion, and more! Campers will rotate through mediums each day with finished projects by the end of the week.

Creativity has been buzzing at ACAC this past week! 🐝🧶🌱

Students created stained glass honeycombs, bees, and ladybugs, learned how to crochet, and made bioactive terrariums.

Adams County Arts Council invites members to submit original artwork for installation on the front of the building as part of the "Inside These Walls" contest. Entries must visually represent the work, mission, activities, and creative spirit that take place inside the building.

The selected artwork will become a public-facing landmark that tells the story of who we are and what happens within our space.

📅 Important Dates:
• Entry deadline: June 30
• Finalist proposals on display for community voting: July First Friday (July 10)
• Final selection announced: July 17
• Installation: August 5

It's never too late to pick up a brush! 🎨

Check out this post from the Gettysburg Foundation highlighting how Dwight D. Eisenhower discovered painting later in life and found both enjoyment and relaxation through the creative process. A great reminder that artistic journeys can begin at any age.

Did you know Dwight D. Eisenhower found relaxation through painting? 🎨

Unlike many artists, Eisenhower didn’t begin painting until he was nearly 60 years old. While working closely with Winston Churchill during World War II, Churchill, an avid painter himself, encouraged Ike to take up a hobby. Eisenhower first picked up a paintbrush in 1948 while serving as president of Columbia University, and he continued painting throughout his presidency. In his Gettysburg home, Ike’s favorite place to paint was the sun porch, where he could enjoy natural light, take in views of the battlefield, and unwind at home. Today, visitors can tour the Eisenhower home and view some of his paintings on display.
