Stop #2 - The MidAtlantic
New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania

We are on a Tour of the USA this summer with our older students in the school program. Ages 4-10 years are traveling 48 states in seven weeks to learn about the music that was born in the USA.

We explored Tin Pan Alley, jazz, improvisation, and Broadway.
We are preparing our students for the 250th celebration of our country this summer. 🇺🇸😎❤️🎶

Beat the heat this summer by sending the kids to Friday Fun Days at the studio 😎☀️🥳

Day Camp is a special offering this summer for kids of all ages. Parents can send the kids for a three hour music play date on Fridays. We even feed the kids pizza for lunch. Our goal is to wear them out so they can go home for quiet time or nap time. Each week we offer a new theme.

This activity is helping our toddlers to listen for high and low sounds. We are moving the parachute with the high/low sounds to develop auditory discrimination. We are working to develop our young musicians’ listening skills.

Level 2 is a parent/child music class for kids ages 2-3 years of age. It allows parents to follow their child to encourage mastery of new skills. We are encouraging the children’s creativity and out of the box thinking as they explore new ways to play.

It’s never too early to introduce jazz to kids! This month our toddlers are actively listening for the repeated pattern in this jazz selection. First, we practiced hopping to the selected beats and then we replayed the song using our egg shakers. This age learns best through movement, so we are working to match their learning needs. With each age group we will level up the learning until the kids can transfer their skills to instruments.

Level 1 is a parent/child music class for toddlers on the move from 15-27 months 💜

In this music class, we give our toddlers plenty of space and opportunity to explore movement. To work their fine motor skills, we explore a wide-variety of instruments and props. To aid their speech development, parents label with new vocabulary words as they move with their toddlers.

Movement is the key to learning, so we’ll be enjoying dancing, bouncing, rocking, and even buggy rides with your babies in our music classes.

Foundations is a music class designed for newborns up to early walkers 💜

The curriculum is tailored for this wide age range. Our goal is to give parents ideas of what they can do at home throughout the week, given the specific age of their baby.

This week we had a special PJ Story Time. We explored nocturnal animals as the kids brought their favorite stuffies to class. We mimicked owl sounds to help find our singing voices. Studies show that if you cannot hear it… you cannot say it… and if you cannot say it, you cannot read it. So we are working those listening skills and vocal skills to benefit our students’ future reading skills.

Beat the heat this summer with Story Time. Story Time is an opportunity for all ages to come together for a special bonus class. Our goal is to foster literacy for children and to help parents build a family library. Each week we have a different theme as we explore a new book together. 📚
