"The CFI of the month is a leader who significantly influences a student's aviation education. An example of such a CFI I had during my training is Mr. Presley Costa. Having Presley as my instructor for the 324 course marked a significant advancement in my aviation education. Transitioning to the Seminole aircraft was initially challenging. Learning a new aircraft and achieving proficiency appeared daunting at first. However, with Presley as my instructor, I was able to overcome these challenges and transition to the new aircraft with relative ease. Presley's teaching methodology emphasizes understanding concepts and meticulously following checklists, with an emphasis on memorization to ensure retention. His instruction made me realize the importance of efficiency in aircraft operation, and he also assisted me in clarifying doubts, making complex concepts more accessible. Furthermore, spending time at the airport with Presley taught me valuable lessons in providing services to others when needed, as well as the significance of being approachable and friendly. I highly recommend that others, particularly my friends, be assigned to Presley Costa as their CFI. Having Presley as an instructor will enhance students' efficiency in operating aircraft and in life skills overall. Given the option to select an instructor for other courses, Presley would undoubtedly be my first choice."

Recent graduate Eric Sundby (Ph.D.'25) has been published in SpaceNews. His article, "America needs a space alliance," highlights the practical application of the research he conducted for his dissertation. Dr. Sundby's doctoral hooding ceremony was performed at UND's Spring Commencement. He is the co-founder and CEO of TerraSpace. 🌑👨‍🚀 What does it take to live on the Moon?

UND is helping NASA find out. For the next 3 years, UND will be testing NASA’s waste-processing facility during Integrated Lunar/Mars Analog Habitat missions.

Developed by NASA, this cutting-edge waste-processing module was attached to ILMAH in early May in time for Mission XXVIII. This research will provide NASA with real-world operational results for a future lunar base waste collection and processing system. ♻️
