Two days of learning, exploring, and fun for our Talent Search high school students during our Summer Seminar!
Our participants had the opportunity to experience college life and explore future career pathways through visits to the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and Tennessee Tech University, where students learned about a variety of academic programs, including exciting opportunities in engineering, agriculture, and other high-demand fields.
The adventure continued with educational visits to the Nashville Zoo, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, where students discovered the fascinating process of creating lifelike wax figures, and the Country Music Hall of Fame, where they explored the rich history and cultural impact of country music.
Throughout the trip, students gained valuable knowledge, experienced new environments, and created lasting memories with their peers. We are proud of their enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones as they explored college, career, and cultural opportunities.

Tusculum Talent Search students from West Greene High School explore careers in downtown Greeneville. Students met with Captain Gass and Chief Spano of the Greeneville Police Dept. As well as Mayor Cal Doty at Town Hall. They enjoyed a presentation at the Greeneville Energy Authority about careers in public utilities, toured Walters State Community College, followed by a stop at the Greeneville Library. The students visited one of downtown’s oldest and most beloved establishments, Tipton's Cafe. There, they enjoyed the cafe's famous fried honey buns and biscuits w/ gravy. Thank you, Michelle and staff, for the delicious treat and hospitality. The final stop was a Lindamood Financial Group. Thank you to Roger and Gin for sharing expertise and advice about the importance of financial planning
This hands-on experience gave students a meaningful look at a wide range of careers and educational opportunities in their own community.
