Congratulations to Gilda Mitchell, our senior development director, one of Leadership High Point’s Class of 2026! We are so proud of her and the other community members who completed this amazing program.

This year, 11 dedicated students participated in the College Readiness Program, a year-long partnership between Northeast Guilford High School RAMS and shift_ed designed to support students as they navigate their post-secondary journey.

As a cohort, they earned 54 college acceptances and were offered more than $400,000 in grants and scholarships.

A special thank you to Mrs. Alexander for her partnership, advocacy, and dedication to ensuring students had the support they needed throughout the year.

Students at North Asheboro Middle School spent 5 weeks learning about tiny houses and how to make them energy-efficient! They built models and created housing flyers. They learned about how to scale their drawing, create and print items on 3D printers, and use simple circuits to light up their homes. They did an amazing job, and we can’t wait to see what they do next!

Forge GSO Makerspace recently invited us to give YouScience assessments to their staff and talk with them about how their results can illuminate future career opportunities. Thank you for hosting us, Forge Greensboro! YouScience is a research-based aptitude assessment. shift_ed sponsors the assessment for all Guilford County Schools 7th and 10th graders to help them chart out a future that aligns with their individual aptitudes and interests.

Hands-on learning spotlight! The Mobile Innovation Lab helped 6th-grade students at W. C. Jackson Middle School light up their understanding of food chains and webs! Students worked in groups to learn about paper circuits, which connected to how energy flows from one organism to the next.

Scholarship applicants: Make sure to visit your student portal and indicate enrollment so we know which college to contact for your financial aid information. Failure to complete this step by July 1 will remove you from consideration for scholarship dollars.
