| The Guilford County Board of Education Policy Committee reported that the following policies are out for public input through July 25, 2026. The Board also approved several policies.

The Summer Reading Challenge is underway! Remember, all students that read & log 600 minutes in Beanstack between June 11 - August 23 earn a ticket to Kersey Valley's Maize Adventure or Family Christmas.

Reminder…..

| Beginning on June 15, all 11 and 12-month employees will follow the modified schedule, working from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and will be off on Fridays. School and district offices will be open to the public Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The summer schedule will continue through Friday, Aug. 14. GCS will return to the regular five-day, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. workweek on Monday, Aug. 17.

GCS schools and offices will be closed on Thursday, June 18, in observation of Juneteenth. All schools and district offices will also be closed to the public from June 29 to July 3.
