Looking back at this picture brings back so many memories. ❤️

This was my very first graduating phlebotomy class at Martin Community College in 2011. At the time, I had no idea that teaching phlebotomy would become such a big part of my life and career. I just knew I loved laboratory medicine and wanted to help others learn the skills needed to enter healthcare.

Fifteen years later, I’m still doing what I love. I’ve had the privilege of training and mentoring so many students, many of whom are now working in healthcare and making a difference in their communities.

This picture reminds me that every journey starts somewhere. I’m thankful for every student who has trusted me to be a part of their career path—from this very first class to the students I teach through APTE Academy today.

Time flies, but the passion for teaching and helping others succeed remains the same. 💉🩸
