🎤 Behind the Scenes with Ms. Shemyah

One of the first skills many vocal students work on is pitch matching—the ability to hear a note and sing it accurately.

It may seem simple, but this foundational skill helps students develop stronger intonation, better listening skills, and greater confidence in their singing voice.

In this clip, Ms. Shemyah is helping her student train their ear and strengthen one of the building blocks of healthy vocal technique.

“My child doesn’t practice. Should we quit lessons?”

One of the biggest mistakes parents make is assuming a child who doesn’t practice isn’t interested in music.

Sometimes the issue is discipline, routine, and learning how to work through challenges.

One of the fastest ways to stay motivated in music lessons is learning songs you genuinely love.

After completing our 4-Week Fast Track Program, Patrice was able to sing and play one of her favorite songs by Lauren Hill while being coached by our virtual guitar instructor, Mike.

When students connect their lessons to the music they already listen to, practice becomes more enjoyable, confidence grows faster, and learning feels less like work and more like self-expression.

Music education isn’t just about exercises and scales….it’s about giving students the tools to play the songs that inspire them.
