The Gold Dust Day Gecko (Phelsuma laticauda) is a small, bright green lizard originally from Madagascar, now commonly found in Hawaii. Its golden speckles give it a sparkling appearance. Unlike most geckos, it's active during the day and enjoys eating nectar, fruit, and insects.
Fun fact: the Gold Dust Day Gecko is also well-known as the colorful mascot in a popular insurance company’s commercials!
The company is GEICO. The Gold Dust Day Gecko inspired the animated gecko mascot featured in GEICO’s popular insurance commercials.

Mozambique Spitting Cobra (Naja mossambica) spitting its venom. Spitting snakes can spit just short of three meters and as the venom sprays it may get into your face, chest and arms, but only does damage if it enters the eyes. First aid for venom in the eyes is to rinse the eyes gently and thoroughly with water and get to a medical doctor for further examination and treatment. Recovery takes two to three days.

The Crested gecko (Correlophus ciliatus) has an amazing history. Described in 1868 after which the species was never seen again and thought to be extinct. Then in 1994 the species was rediscovered after a tropical storm and a few specimens were brought to Europe and the US. They developed to be one of the most popular pet lizards in the world. The crested gecko is endemic to South Province, New Caledonia.
