Sometimes Satan doesn’t begin with a temptation.
Sometimes he begins with a thought.
A quiet one.
A subtle one.
A thought that sounds like, “You’re not enough.”
Or, “You’ll never change.”
Or, “No one really cares.”
And if we’re not careful, that untruth starts to grow roots.
I know this because I’ve lived it.
There have been seasons where I believed things about myself that God never said. I created entire stories from a single painful thought. Stories that told me I was forgotten, unseen, failing, or somehow falling behind everyone else.
What started as an untruth became a false narrative.
And eventually those narratives shaped my emotions, my reactions, and even my relationships.
One of the most powerful things I have learned through coaching and through my faith is this:
Not every thought deserves your agreement.
As disciples of Christ, we are invited to “take every thought captive” and bring it to Him. To pause and ask:
Is this actually true?
Does this align with what God says about me?
Would Jesus say this to me?
Because untruths lead to false narratives, and false narratives often lead to overreactions.
But truth changes everything.
Truth reminds us that we are loved.
Truth reminds us that we are enough through Christ.
Truth reminds us that our worth was never up for debate.
Today, pay attention to the story you’re telling yourself.
It may be the very place God is inviting His truth to shine a little brighter. 🤍

This is one of the most powerful lessons I have learned through coaching.
Your thoughts directly influence your character, and your character determines your actions.
For years, I thought my circumstances were creating my life. If only this person would change. If only that prayer would be answered. If only things were easier.
But coaching taught me something life changing.
Everything begins with a thought.
The thoughts we rehearse become beliefs.
Those beliefs shape who we become.
And who we become determines what we do.
The gospel teaches this same principle.
“Let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly…” (Doctrine and Covenants 121:45)
The Lord has always cared about our thoughts because He knows they eventually become our lives.
I have seen this in my own journey.
The days I focus on fear, disappointment, or what is missing, I show up differently.
But when I intentionally turn my thoughts toward Christ, toward gratitude, toward trust, my heart changes. My actions change. My relationships change.
Not because my circumstances suddenly become perfect.
Because I do.
Perhaps that is why the battle for our minds matters so much.
What we repeatedly think about, we eventually become.
Today, pay attention to the thoughts you are practicing.
Are they creating the person you want to become?

How many times have you stayed awake at night worrying about someone you love?
Replaying conversations.
Praying for them.
Trying to figure out the right thing to say.
Wondering how to help them see what you see.
I know I have.
One of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn is that loving someone and changing someone are not the same thing.
People have agency.
And as much as we may want to carry them, fix them, rescue them, or convince them, that job belongs to God.
Today in my free webinar we’re talking about the difference between love and control, and how letting go can actually bring more peace into our relationships.
If you’ve ever felt emotionally exhausted from caring so much, this conversation is for you.
