Join us in applauding some YAYS of sunshine as the summer rolls along! ☀️

Five members of our Human Resources team — Tiffani Willis, Emily Massey, Courtney Via, Jada Carter and Raasiq Khazi — are today's special "Yay of the Day" honorees!

Chief of Staff Michelle Boyd recognized the team (represented by Willis and Massey) at the ACE Center at Hermitage Monday morning!

YAYWORTHY:

Their nominator, Chief Human Resources Officer Francine Bouldin, said,

"This team deserves a 'Yay' for demonstrating exceptional dedication, collaboration and expertise in the successful implementation of the Avature applicant tracking system. Team members went well beyond their core responsibilities to ensure the system was thoughtfully designed, thoroughly tested, and closely aligned with the division’s needs. Their commitment to excellence, attention to detail and willingness to invest the necessary time and effort were instrumental in bringing this complex, high-impact project to fruition. They continue to demonstrate that same high level of commitment as the system progresses through its initial rollout.

"As a result of their efforts, the division now benefits from a more efficient, user‑friendly system that streamlines the hiring process, improves data accuracy and enhances the experience for both applicants and hiring managers. Their work has delivered meaningful, division‑wide impact and continues to drive positive outcomes."

Thank you for all each of you do to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!

Henrico County Public Schools has been named a recipient of the 2026 Future-Ready Facilities Grant, a national program sponsored by Attune - formerly Senseware that will distribute $500,000 in total funding across 14 selected K-12 public school divisions. ⚡️

Henrico Schools will receive energy and water monitoring technology, expert implementation support and access to real-time data dashboards — providing the division with a clear look on how school buildings are performing and empowering smarter, more proactive decisions for the health and safety of students and staff.

These resources will be utilized by the HCPS Department of Teaching and Learning, the HCPS Department of Facilities and the Henrico County Sustainability Division to monitor water and energy usage at all of Henrico’s high schools and the Campus of Virginia Randolph and identify potential opportunities for short- and long-term improvements. More than 4,000 environmental education and statistics students across Henrico will also have this technology and data available as part of curriculums.
