HPSD Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, June 17 to amend the final budget for the 25-26 school year and to also amend the BOE calendar.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Barber Preparatory Academy.

It’s the last day of school! Congratulations to all the scholars for completing a year of academic excellence, growth and hard work. We hope all of our scholars and families have a wonderful break! We can’t wait to see how you grow next year!

It’s never too early to think about the upcoming school year. Tuition-free enrollment is now open at Barber Preparatory Academy.

Barber Prep prepares young scholars for lifelong learning and success, with a dedicated staff and a focus on college-readiness and career exploration.

Recently, Barber Prep middle schoolers have been studying up on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. They even had the opportunity to hear directly from some amazing young men and women currently attending several HBCUs across the country!

Summer is almost here! We are so proud of the growth our Highland Park scholars have shown this year. They have taken so many steps forward, and their potential shines brighter than the summer sun.

This month’s Barber Prep character trait, self-control, is especially important right now. The last days of school can bring excitement and anticipation, but strong self-control helps scholars stay focused, make positive choices and finish the year strong! ☀️📚

Barber Prep is still enrolling for tuition-free preschool for the 2026-27 school year! Children who participate in preschool learn important social and emotional skills and are better prepared for kindergarten. Every child deserves a head start!

Summer Break is almost here for Barber Prep scholars — but there are still a few days left before school lets out on June 12. Everyday attendance is one of the strongest indicators of academic success. Let’s finish the year strong!
