Interested in studying in Japan?
Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) is happy to finally welcome exchange students back on campus this fall. The KGU Incoming Team will host a couple of online information sessions in March for students interested in studying in Japan from 2023 Fall Semester onward. The sessions will include a presentation of the exchange program, as well as accommodations, extracurricular activities, and a Q&A session.
This session is aimed towards:
l Students who are interested in studying in Japan but have yet to make their choice and are looking at their options.
l Students who are planning to study at KGU as an exchange student.
l Students who have already been nominated by their home institution to study at Kwansei Gakuin University as an Exchange student but want to learn more about the program.

The University of the Ryukyus is happy to announce that their intensive study program this academic year will be held in partnership with the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST).
The program will be held in-person, in Okinawa, Japan from March 11 to 19, 2023.
This is a credited (2 credits), 9-day program that provides students with the opportunity to participate in an in-person cultural and study abroad experience centered on the theme of sustainability, with the aim of fostering global leadership to build a regional network for preservation and sustainability of island communities, cultures and environments in the Pacific Island Region.
The program features guest lectures, joint programming with OIST, field trips as well as opportunities for interaction and collaboration with Japanese and international students studying at the University of the Ryukyus.
This program has been crafted to suit the needs of students who have an interest in the sustainability of island regions, Japan/Okinawa or are keen to develop their student leadership skills. It will also serve as a good opportunity to orientate students who may wish to explore possibilities for study abroad in Japan and Asia in future.
The program will provide return airfare, accommodation and ground transportation for your students. However, all selected applicants must pay 30,000 JPY (in cash only) upon arrival in Okinawa. Fees paid will be used to fund admission to places of interest, cultural activities and field trips.

IBO will be hosting our annual Global Learning, Global Success event in-person for the first time in three years on Tuesday, November 19th from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Campus Center Ballroom!
GLGS aims to bring awareness to the importance of studying abroad, educate more about the careers in business abroad, and accentuate the connections in our ever-expanding globalized world. GLGS is open to all UH Manoa students and faculty. The event will feature student, alumni, and professor presentations, with light pupus and refreshments provided. Attire is business casual, and the sign up deadline is Wednesday, November 23rd 11:59 PM.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the study abroad and exchange programs, network with those who have studied abroad, and earn a chance to win one of (2) $1,000 travel scholarships through a raffle at the end of the event.

Interested in having intercultural conversations with students from Japan?
Nanzan University will be hosting their fourth round of free online intercultural discussion sessions: Global Chit Chat. For this round they will be meeting on: Friday, December 2 8am-9am(JST), Friday, December 16 8am-9am(JST), and Tuesday, January 17 8am-9am(JST).In these sessions, you will have the opportunity to interact with not only Nanzan students, but also other students from around the world!

Keio University will be hosting their annual online event for “The Experience Japan Exhibition (EJE)”, flagship study-abroad fair, on Saturday, November 19th, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (JST). It is perfect for students who are seeking opportunities to study abroad, especially those interested in Japan!
The online seminars will cover topics such as scholarships, employment opportunities, researching in Japan, and more. There will also be a Q&A session where participants can ask questions to students who have studied in Japan, while universities and other institutions will each have virtual booths to introduce their unique programs.

The University of Tsukuba will be hosting three online intercultural chat programs for anyone that is interested in interacting with Japanese college students.
The programs include: "Tsuku-chat" where every Wednesday from October 19th to February 1st, you can experience cultural exchanges and talk about a variety of diverse topics! This is heavily recommended for those who want to improve their English skills, those who are thinking of studying abroad, and those who want to make friends across countries! "J-chat" which is a Japanese speaking event that occurs every Tuesday from November 8th to January 31st, great for anyone who is working to improve their Japanese skills! And "SDGs & Tsukuba" which occurs on October 21st, November 11th, and December 9th, and it covers different discussion topics for each session.

The Consulate General of Japan in Honolulu will be hosting two Virtual Information Sessions: Wednesday, October 19th from 2:00 - 3:00 pm and Thursday, October 20th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.
The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program offers young professionals the opportunity to work in Japan as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) or Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs).

The Kwansei Gakuin University Team will host a an online information session on October 25th, from 10:00 - 17:00 (JST) for students who may be interested in studying in Japan from 2023 Spring Semester onward.
The sessions will include a short greeting from Associate Professor Matthias HENNINGS (PhD), a presentation of the exchange program, as well as accommodations, and extracurricular activities led by Incoming Exchange Coordinator Amina DANTE, and a Q&A.

On Sunday, October 16th, at 3:00-4:30 pm (JST), the Tohoku Global Campus Project will be hosting an event introducing Tohoku University with a discussion on “your college life”.
The “Tohoku Global Campus Project” is a series of online cultural-exchange events organized by students at Tohoku University who have studied abroad at our partner universities.
