Congratulations to our lifeguard, Corey, for graduating from Punahou. Mahalo nui loa for your service to our Y ohana. We wish her all the best in the future including when she starts at Georgia Tech in the Fall.

This week, our Junior Leaders and Y-Teen programs had the incredible privilege of hosting a special luncheon with our beloved Kūpuna.

At the Y, we often talk about building a stronger community, but moments like this remind us exactly what that looks like in action. It’s not just about sharing a meal; it’s about holding space across generations and intentional storytelling.

We are so incredibly proud of our Junior Leaders and Y-Teens for showing up with such open hearts, leadership, and respect. A huge mahalo to our wonderful kūpuna for sharing their time, smiles, and wisdom with us.

Here’s to continuing to build a community where every generation feels seen, valued, and connected!

Looking for a fun way to build confidence, discipline, and physical fitness? Join our Judo program for youth ages 8+ and adults at the Kaimuki-Waialae YMCA! Judo emphasizes respect, self-discipline, character development, self-defense, and physical endurance—all in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Lily was selected to receive a full year of tuition at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa after sharing her inspiring story about returning home to Hawaiʻi and giving back to the community that raised her.

We’re especially proud because Lily is one of our amazing volunteers here at the YMCA Kaimukī-Waialae. Her kindness, dedication, and welcoming spirit make a difference every day.
