How to care for a baby bird:

Keep it WARM and in a safe enclosed box.
Gently hold the bird as if your hand is a saddle across its back. Take a small clean cap of water and touch only the tip of its beak too the water. Be sure the bird is level and allow it to raise its head to swallow the water. Only the tip of the beak and go slowly.

Feed wit Kay-tee baby bird formula. It can be found at most pet stores. $6- $7 dollars. Get a medicine dropper and force the beak open gently. Put the medicine dropper deep into the birds throat. This is important. If you put it only inside the beek it can breath in the formula and drown. Go deep into its throat gently and squeeze the formula in before bringing out the dropper.

Introduce baby bird too house pets such as dogs or cats slowly and with supervision. Do not use the word “no” too a cat or dog. Let them smell the bird and notice that it is an accepted family pet as well. They will learn to respect it. Cats are easy. Some dogs are not always able too be trusted. Only time and repetition will teach them and show you.
Find out what kind of bird you are fostering. Is it a fruit eater like a Mynah or a Bulbo? Or is it an insect eater? As the bird grows, introduce it too it’s types of food.

Beware of when they start to fly and windows in your home. Windows can kill a bird if they fly into them. Keep supervised while exercising their first Fleight’s.

Can someone help this injured Golden Plover? I left a phone message, too. It is hopping around on one leg. You can find it at the intersection of Paa and Ahua streets in Mapunapuna. It goes from parking lot to parking lot, near the Kaiser clinic.

Can anyone please help this bird I found...I found him near a stray 🐱...last night...I have him in a shoebox.gave him water...gatorade...and oatmeal he seems fine but needs someone to care for him...he is a fledgling fully feathered...except for two missing flight feathers...please message me asap

Thank you to the two ladies who I spoke with on the phone today. I took the baby bird back to the area I found it and waited 2-3 hours. The parents never came back. I went back and got it and bathed it like the lady told me. I also used the blow dryer and carefully dried it, as instructed. I mixed up some crushed dog food and water and honey and used an eye dropper to feed it. I also gave it some Gatorade that way as well. I have him in a box with paper towels, leaves, grass, and 2 kitchen towels. I also have a bedside lamp on above part of the box for warmth. Hopefully I can meet someone tomorrow to gain some more guidance. If anyone is open to fostering this little guy, please let me know. I'll be around this week but won't be able to take care of this little guy long-term due to work travel.

Baby bird food can be found at most Hawaii pet stores. It comes in power form. All you do is add water and give to the bird, deep into it's throat with a medicine dropper of small syringe ( without the needle!) Good Luck! Thank you for your kind gesture!
