Travel the world through music, movement, culture, and soccer at our Global Goal Soccer Party on June 20. Celebrate Houston’s international spirit with live pop-up performances inspired by countries competing in Houston, including Germany, Curaçao, Portugal, DR Congo, the Netherlands, Sweden, Uzbekistan, Cape Verde, and Saudi Arabia. Families can enjoy international storytimes, musical instrument workshops, soccer skill stations with Heights High School players, and exciting trivia challenges hosted by DJ Tyler. Plus, explore hands-on activities all day long including Parade of Nations pennants, Arabic-inspired paper quilts, and soccer-themed science experiments. It’s a global celebration full of culture, creativity, and nonstop fun for the whole family.

A new masterpiece has arrived at Children’s Museum Houston.
We are proud to host a special FIFA World Cup mural created by acclaimed artist Elizabeth “Liz” Umanzor, celebrating the Houston Museum District and the millions of visitors inspired by its institutions each year.
More than a vibrant work of art, this mural reflects the spirit of imagination, discovery, science, culture, and exploration that defines our city. As Houston welcomes visitors from around the world for one of the globe’s biggest sporting events, this installation stands as a symbol of learning, innovation, community, and cultural exchange.

Join us June 18–19 for our Juneteenth Celebration as we honor freedom, history, culture, and community through meaningful performances, storytelling, art, and hands-on activities for the whole family. Experience the powerful Juneteenth Champions exhibit by T. Ellis, enjoy inspiring performances by Ministry in Motion, and take part in special storytimes celebrating the history of Juneteenth and Houston’s Emancipation Park. Families can also create their own Juneteenth Freedom Flag while learning about the lasting impact of the Emancipation Proclamation and the significance of June 19, 1865. Celebrate this important moment in American history with two days of reflection, education, creativity, and joy.
