Member Spotlight: Jerry Nugent & Holly Pipe Corp

If you've attended an HDDA event, chances are you've met Jerry Nugent (pictured left, alongside his brother.)

Jerry is one of those people who always shows up with a smile, a handshake, and a genuine interest in the people around him. Whether it's a conference, meeting, fundraiser, or industry event, he's consistently there supporting the HDD community and helping strengthen the relationships that make this industry special.

As President of Holly Pipe Corp, Jerry continues the family legacy built by his father, leading a company that has served the drilling industry for more than 40 years. Based in Louisiana, Holly Pipe has built a reputation for quality products, dependable service, and a commitment to helping contractors succeed in the field.

What stands out most about Jerry is the way he treats people. He is a strong supporter of the HDD industry, an active participant in the HDDA, and someone who is always willing to share his experience, offer encouragement, and help others whenever he can.

Members like Jerry are a big part of what makes this association strong. His positive attitude, dedication to the industry, and willingness to get involved make him a valued member of the HDDA community.

This Memorial Day, the HDDA honors and remembers the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today, and their courage will never be forgotten.

Today, we pause in gratitude and remembrance for those who gave everything in defense of our nation.

The Horizontal Directional Drilling Association Spring Conference brought together professionals from across the HDD industry.

Our new website and registration system performed well in its first live setting, delivering a smooth experience for attendees.

Outside the conference, members continue to make an impact through initiatives like lunch and learn sessions that help engineers better understand HDD constructibility.

We’ve also maintained a presence at the Texas State House, advocating for 811 reform and greater accountability across the locate system.

On the training side, our online education platform is advancing, with six operator qualification courses currently in development and expected to launch this fall.

The events matter, but the mission drives everything. Safer jobs, stronger businesses, and a higher standard for the HDD industry.
