THE DUC DINH CURRICULUM
Known for its challenging curriculum from every angle—academic rigor, difficulty level, frequent tests and quizzes, high expectations, and demanding workloads—the Duc Dinh Summer Program has earned a reputation for pushing students to reach their full potential.
However, something interesting has happened ever since we opened Duc Dinh Center 19 years ago.
Many students who return for their second, third, or even eighth summer begin telling us that the program no longer feels difficult.
We even have parents asking, “Did you make the program easier?”
Why?
The answer is simple: Duc Dinh students have been trained so well that what was once rigorous now feels normal.
This ability to adapt to academic challenges is one of the reasons why our students consistently gain admission to some of the top high schools and universities in America.
I’d like to introduce Anna, a rising 6th-grade student at Youngblood Intermediate in Alief ISD.
A few days ago, Anna walked up to me and asked, “Mr. Duc, why is the summer program so easy? I thought it was supposed to be difficult.”
I smiled and asked, “How did you do on your placement exams?”
“I got a 100% on both exams,” she replied.
After asking her a few more questions and reviewing her performance, I decided to move Anna into the 7th-grade program to provide a greater challenge. My goal is always to continue pushing students forward when they demonstrate the ability to handle more advanced work.
What makes Anna’s story even more impressive is where she started.
About two years ago, Anna joined Duc Dinh Center as a student with several foundational academic gaps. Through consistent participation in our Summer Program, After-School Program, and Saturday Test Preparation classes, she has made tremendous progress.
Today, Anna can take an 8th-grade-level exam and score approximately 85%. The only reason she remains in the 7th-grade curriculum is because she feels more comfortable at that level for now.
Anna’s journey is a reminder of what can happen when students are given the right support, high expectations, and opportunities to grow.
We look forward to seeing many more success stories like Anna’s in the future. Many of our students continue to excel as GT (Gifted & Talented), Honor Roll, and Pre-AP students, and Anna is a great example of what is possible when hard work meets the right environment.
At Duc Dinh Center, our goal has never been to make things easy. Our goal is to help students become so capable that challenging work simply becomes part of who they are.
Anna is an outstanding Gifted & Talented (GT) student who has maintained straight A’s throughout the school year. Her strong work ethic, academic excellence, and willingness to embrace challenges make her one of the many success stories at Duc Dinh Center.

FROM TEST ANXIETY TO A 1520 SAT SCORE
Achieving a high SAT score takes more than academic ability alone.
For Nhat Minh, one of the first SAT students at Duc Dinh Education Vietnam, earning a 1520 on the SAT was not only a reflection of his academic strength—it was a journey of overcoming pressure, pushing past mental barriers, and staying committed to his goals every step of the way.
Like many students, Nhat Minh faced real challenges when he first began preparing for the SAT.
* His vocabulary foundation needed significant improvement.
* The Reading section required deeper comprehension and stronger analytical thinking.
* Time management during the exam was a constant challenge.
* Most importantly, he faced the pressure of achieving a target score within a limited timeframe in order to pursue admission to top universities.
Then came the actual exam—the moment when even a brief loss of confidence or composure could impact an entire test score.
What makes us most proud of Nhat Minh is not simply the final result, but the way he navigated the journey.
There were evenings when students and teachers at Duc Dinh Education stayed late, working through difficult concepts together. There were lessons carefully reviewed multiple times and mistakes analyzed in detail so that Nhat Minh could truly understand the underlying concepts—not just solve a single problem, but master an entire question type.
In addition to receiving direct guidance from the Duc Dinh Education team in Vietnam, Nhat Minh also had opportunities to work with instructors from Duc Dinh Center in the United States, receiving support in SAT and AP preparation while developing the academic mindset expected in the American education system.
Step by step, Nhat Minh overcame the obstacles in front of him.
He strengthened his vocabulary.
He improved his reading and analytical skills.
He conquered the psychological pressure of test day.
Most importantly, he maintained his composure, confidence, and determination—ultimately achieving an outstanding SAT score of 1520, a milestone that deserves tremendous recognition and praise.
At Duc Dinh Education, Nhat Minh’s 1520 is more than just a number. It represents a student’s dedication, a family’s trust, and the unwavering support of teachers who remained by his side throughout the entire learning process.
But Nhat Minh’s journey does not end here.
In the next stage of his academic development, he will continue working toward an even higher SAT score. With the continued guidance and support of Duc Dinh Education, he will also begin preparing a competitive application portfolio for admission to top universities in the United States.
Congratulations to Nhat Minh on his remarkable achievement of a 1520 SAT score.
His success reinforces an important truth: when students have the right goals, the right guidance, and the right support system, they can surpass their own expectations and achieve extraordinary results.
Duc Dinh Education will continue to stand alongside Nhat Minh—not just for one examination, but throughout the long academic journey that lies ahead.

At Just 12 Years Old: Rising 8th Grader Earns a Perfect 1600 on a Released SAT Practice Test
Meet Olumuyiwa, a rising 8th grade student at Beckendorff Junior High. This is Olumuyiwa’s second summer at Duc Dinh Center. He is a hardworking student with an exceptionally strong academic foundation.
Known for having a very rigorous curriculum, the challenging courses at Duc Dinh Center did not satisfy Olumuyiwa. He quickly realized that the classes were not challenging enough for him. After telling us that the coursework felt too easy, we moved him up—and then continued moving him up as he consistently excelled at every level.
Last summer, as a rising 7th grader, Olumuyiwa joined our SAT class, where he learned alongside high school juniors and seniors. This summer, he has returned even stronger, earning a perfect 1600 on an official released SAT practice test earlier this week.
We are incredibly proud of his accomplishment. With his remarkable academic ability and tremendous potential, Duc Dinh Center is actively helping him pursue specialized programs, academic competitions, and educational opportunities that will continue to challenge and support his growth.
Beyond his academic achievements, Olumuyiwa is a kind, respectful, and humble young man who always has a smile on his face. His positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn make him a joy to teach. We look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes in the years ahead.
