William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies

In honor of Bloomsday, the Irish Consulate in Austin interviewed a number of University of St. Thomas students about their experiences studying Irish literature at home and abroad. Next month another group of ten UST students will be traveling to the land of Yeats, Joyce, and Heaney to learn about Ireland's rich literary tradition.

We are excited to announce that that the William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies at the University of St. Thomas will be hosting the 2026 conference of the International Yeats Studies December 3-5. This conference, which celebrates the legacy of the national poet of Ireland, will include two public lectures by eminent scholars.

It was a distinct honor and pleasure to host Dr. Fran Brearton from Queens University, Belfast. One of the foremost scholars on Irish Literature, Dr. Brearton presented "Griefs and Wonders" exploring the life and legacy of the great Irish poet, Michael Langley.
