๐ฏ๐๐Ready to Lead. Ready to Serve. ๐๐๐ฏ
Even during the summer months, our dedicated volunteers are hard at work investing in the future of SVdP!
Last week, members of the SVdP Advisory School Council attended the 2026 Archdiocesan Advisory Council Workshop, joining school leaders from across the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
From strategic planning and financial stewardship to effective teamwork and governance, our council members gained valuable tools and fresh perspectives to better support Father Sean, Principal Thompson, and the entire SVdP community.
The Advisory School Council is already rolling up its sleeves ready to help move our mission forward in the year ahead. SVdP is grateful for their leadership, dedication, and service, and we are excited for all that lies ahead this year!

Our 5th graders explored the miracle of life in Religion class by โadoptingโ a classroom baby and tracking its growth each week. ๐ถโจ From orange-seed beginnings to a tiny beating heart, students discovered the beauty of Godโs creation.
The unit ended with a baby shower celebration benefiting the SVdP Gabriel Project and a fun โGuess Who the Baby Isโ game featuring student baby photos! ๐ฉต๐ Special thanks to our parent volunteers for coordinating such a meaningful celebration.

At our final school Mass with the 8th grade class, Fr. Sean introduced a meaningful new tradition to our school community: the Pass the Light Ceremony ๐ฏ๏ธโจ
During this special celebration, our 8th grade students received a candle lit from the Easter Candle ๐ฏ๏ธ and a blessing from Fr. Sean. They then passed that light to the current 7th grade students, symbolizing the transition of leadership and responsibility
This powerful moment represents more than traditionโit reflects the passing of faith, service, and community
As our 8th graders prepare to move on, they entrust the light to the next class of leaders, who will carry it forward in the year ahead ๐

Once a Tiger, always a Tiger ๐ฏ๐๐
SVDP loved welcoming back to campus the Class of 2022 before their high school graduation! From college shirts to yearbooks and sweet memories shared on campus, it was a joy to have them back home at SVDP.
We are so proud of these students and pray God continues to guide them as they take their next steps.
