CarePartners is proud to announce that Congregation Beth Yeshurun and Zion Lutheran Church - Houston Heights have completed their Dementia-Friendly Congregations training program.

This initiative empowers clergy, staff, and congregants with practical tools to better understand dementia, support caregivers, reduce stigma, and foster welcoming, inclusive environments for individuals living with dementia and their families.

By participating in this training, these congregations are taking meaningful steps to strengthen community support and ensure that all members feel seen, supported, and valued.

A delightful bilingual service today celebrating our growing friendship with our sister church in Piura, Peru, Cristo el Rey. Pastor Cesar gave a powerful sermon from Peru, and Zion enjoyed learning liturgy and the Lord’s Prayer in Spanish. And cake!

Incredible! This past weekend, several from Zion attended a presentation by Brenda, beloved Zioner and part of the Mosaic Leadership Circle’s cohort related to working with churches to prevent domestic violence. Her group’s presentation was powerful. Thank you Brenda & Mosaic for sharing your wisdom.

Happy Pride from Zion! Join Zion this Saturday at 5pm to march in the Pride Parade and this Sunday for a special Pride service at 11am. You are very welcome at Zion!

For the last three weeks, Zion has had a packed house during the education hour as we have participated in a pilot program from CarePartners on learning how to become a dementia-friendly congregation. From learning about dementia to looking at how worship, space, and interactions can be more supportive, it was an incredible series. Zion was CarePartner’s first pilot church - we could not recommend this series more highly to other churches!
