We've all been there and there is no worse thing than dealing with an exhaustion melt down after a day of fun.

So... what do you do? How do you avoid this and still allow time for summer fun or errands?

What if I traumatize my baby?

What if our bond isn't as strong bc we don't cosleep?

What if they never want to cuddle with me again?

Yes... I too had these same thoughts and feelings, but what I couldn't do was fight those feelings while being beat down by exhaustion at the same time.

I chose rest. For them. For me. For the whole house... and what I got in return...

Intentional time to bond. The ability to shower them with love and kisses that didn't have a frustrated or worn out undertone.

..them asking ME to have quiet time with them was just the extra proof to me that the kids are alright. Our bond is still strong and I'd make the same choice over again.

I am better when rested and so are they. πŸ₯°

I absolutely love being home with my twinkies. When it's just me and them we have some of our best times and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Especially now that they are in grade school... these summer days together are so special.

HOWEVER...

If I can be honest, I get overwhelmed, overstimulated and sometimes just aggravated and THAT'S OKAY.

How do I make it through the day? I use my kids naps and quiet times as MY quiet time.

It gives me a chance to reboot, recharge and come back ready to play 10 more rounds of Uno.
