Congratulations to Mr. Kevin Daniel, Principal of Riverton Intermediate School!
This morning, the Madison County Schools Board of Education officially approved Mr. Daniel as the new principal of Riverton Intermediate School.
As a proud graduate of Madison County Schools and a lifelong resident of Madison County, Mr. Daniel is deeply connected to the community he serves. After completing his education at Hazel Green High School, he earned a bachelor's degree from the University of North Alabama and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Arizona State University.
Throughout his career, Mr. Daniel has had the privilege of serving students and families across multiple Madison County school communities, including New Hope High School, Meridianville Middle School, Monrovia Middle School, and most recently as Assistant Principal at Madison County Elementary School.
His successful experience as a teacher and leader have provided him with a broad perspective and a unique view of the systems in place within our district for strong instructional practices.
Throughout his career, Mr. Daniel has supported school improvement efforts, led Professional Learning Community (PLC) initiatives, and contributed to curriculum alignment through service on the District Essential Standards Team. His commitment to instructional excellence and continuous improvement has helped support student achievement across multiple school settings.
Mr. Daniel's experience as a teacher, coach, and assistant principal across multiple grade levels has given him a strong understanding of what students need to succeed at every stage of their educational journey. His work spanning Pre-K through 12th grade, coupled with experience supporting students through key academic and developmental transitions, prepares him well to lead at the intermediate level.
Mr. Daniel and his wife, Caitlan, live in Hazel Green with their son, Auston. As both an educator and community member, he is committed to building strong relationships and creating a positive environment where all students can thrive.
As he begins this new role, Mr. Daniel shares, “It is both an honor and a tremendous responsibility to serve as principal of Riverton Intermediate School. I am incredibly excited for this opportunity. I believe in servant leadership that is transparent, supportive, and focused on helping others succeed. Together, we will continue building a school culture where every student is valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.”
Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Mr. Daniel as the new principal of Riverton Intermediate School.
We are excited for the leadership, dedication, and commitment to students he will bring to the Riverton school community!

We know it's only the first day of June, and school supplies are probably the last thing most families want to think about right now... 🎒 🖍️ ✂️ ✏️
But if you happen to spot some great sales this summer, or simply like to plan ahead, we've made it easy for you!
School supply lists for participating Madison County Schools are available on our website:
Any items marked "optional" are classroom wish-list donations requested by teachers and are not required but are greatly appreciated.
Note: if your school's page does not include a supply list, it may be because supplies will be provided by the school, or because classroom-specific information will be shared closer to the start of the school year.
In those cases, we recommend students come to school on the first day with a few basic supplies and wait for guidance from their teachers regarding any additional needs.
Whenever the time is right for your family, you'll know exactly where to find your school's information when you're ready.
