Recess was especially joyful today. 💚
There was running, chasing, laughing, pretending, and plenty of sweet moments between friends. Our campers had the best time just being together.
Sometimes the simplest parts of the day are the ones that feel the most special.

Lunch was a hit today with our 3rd–5th grade campers!
A huge thank you to our friends at Church of the Highlands in Huntsville for sponsoring such a delicious meal. Our campers loved it, and we are so grateful for the way you continue to show up for our community.
We’re also thankful for the everyday moments that happen around the table, like good conversations, new connections, and interns who take the time to sit with our campers, listen to them, laugh with them, and truly get to know them.
These are the moments that make Summer Camp so special. 💚
Thank you, Church Of The Highlands!

Our youngest Summer Campers had the best time visiting North Huntsville Public Library this week!
As part of Huntsville-Madison County Public Library’s summer theme, “Unearth a Story,” our campers had time to explore the shelves, look through books, and enjoy a fun story time featuring No Pirates Allowed! Said Library Lou by Rhonda Gowler Greene.
After discovering new stories inside the library, they headed outside for some playground time, which made the day even sweeter.
Thank you to our friends at North Huntsville Public Library for welcoming our campers. We are so grateful for community spaces that encourage us to keep learning all summer long! 💚

This week, HLC campers had a wonderful field trip to the Cook Museum of Natural Science in Decatur!
From hands-on exhibits to up-close opportunities to explore the natural world, it was a fun-filled day of discovery, curiosity, and learning. We’re grateful for places like the Cook Museum that make science feel exciting, interactive, and full of wonder. 💚

This summer, Mrs. Renee has felt especially called to create intentional time with the K-2 girls during Bible Study for conversations and lessons centered on their identity in Christ as daughters in His Kingdom. These truths are beautiful and unique to the experiences and challenges they face as young women. It has been a meaningful part of the summer, creating space for encouragement, discipleship, and reminding these girls whose they are, who God says they are, and the incredible purpose they carry as beloved daughters of the King.

This week, our middle school campers spent the day exploring future pathways at Drake State Community & Technical College!
During their visit, campers toured several hands-on program areas, including Cosmetology, Barbering, Automotive Service, and Welding. They also learned more about dual enrollment opportunities available to high school students, giving them a glimpse of how they can begin preparing now for what comes next.
A special thank you to Kimberly Collier, College Recruiter, and the Drake State student ambassadors for welcoming our campers, leading tours, and helping our middle schoolers imagine new possibilities for their futures. 💚
