It was a party at the Holy Angels Catholic School Rock the Block yesterday off MLK in Indy!

We kicked off the event with a DJ, got inspired by a motivational speaker, and ended with the smooth sounds of The Bomb Squad Band. The kiddos had a blast making balloon animals, face painting, and games—and it wouldn’t be a Holy Angel’s event without a foam party!

This year truly became a community affair! We had an incredible turnout of local vendors showcasing the best of the neighborhood, a health fair providing vital resources, the best fish fry in town, and a car show taking us on a trip through time.

The energy was unmatched, and the event grew significantly in size and participation from last year. Thank you to everyone who came out to rock the block with us!

Family, service, and a fierce dedication to the next generation—that is the legacy of this week’s Advocate Spotlight, Monica A. Evans.

She is a retired Detroit Police Officer and national V.F.W. “Officer of the Year” recognized by the Department of Justice for her grassroots youth violence prevention work. And now she is a fighter for educational options.

Driven by her own childhood experiences, Monica works tirelessly to ensure trauma survivors and youth have the high accountability, deep support, and educational choices they need to thrive.
