Bethany Kaufman, Classical Philology, Greek and Latin Major, BA '27, presented her paper "Memory Eternal: Why the Dead Crave the Grave” at UD's Research Day on Friday. This paper emerged from her Homer class in the Fall with Dr. John Moss. Macte virtute!

An edition of a papyrus, recently discovered in a library of Cairo, containing verses of Empedocles has been published. This is exciting!
Thirty previously unpublished verses by Empedocles discovered on a papyrus from Cairo
A papyrus fragment reveals thirty previously unknown verses by the Greek philosopher, allowing us for the first time to read a lost section of the Physica, his great poem on nature.
