We continue to add some amazing people to our already incredible staff. Let’s meet our new music teacher, Rachel Cecil.
A native of St. Louis Missouri, I spent my teenage years and my beginning teaching career in the Dallas area. I received a bachelor’s degree in music education from Louisiana State University and a master’s degree in music education from Florida State University. The latter catapulted me to Jacksonville, where I have lived for over a decade. An Orff-Schulwerk trained teacher, I believe in a student-centered approach, where the students are composing, improvising, singing, moving, and playing instruments. When not teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband (Asa), son (Judah), and most loyal four-legged companion Pepper Anne. We like to adventure out to the theatres, parks, and new cities. However, nothing beats spending time with family and friends or curling up with a good book!

I’m excited to announce another new staff member to Stockton! Welcome, Jackie Pittman!
I have been a teacher for DCPS for the last 18 years. Prior to teaching, I attended Jacksonville University where I earned a Masters Degree in Education. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband, Nick, and two children, Miles and Nora. I love to go camping and especially love a good picnic! I also love reading a good book, listening to music, and watching baseball. Go Braves!

Let’s meet another new staff member.
Hi everyone! My name is Maura Rupert, and I am excited to join John Stockton Elementary as the Reading Interventionist. I have over 10 years of experience in literacy education, a Master’s degree in Special Education with a focus on Language and Literacy, and am an Orton-Gillingham Teacher and Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist. I am passionate about helping students become confident, successful readers through evidence-based, multisensory instruction tailored to their individual needs.
My family and I live nearby, so I am especially excited to serve and connect with the community we call home. Outside of school, I stay busy with my 5-year-old daughter and newborn twin girls. I look forward to partnering with students, families, and staff and becoming a part of the Stockton family!

Let’s meet one of our new 1st grade teachers, Caitlyn Springcroft.
Hello, my name is Caitlyn Springcroft. I am thrilled to begin my 4th year teaching 1st grade at John Stockton Elementary! I just moved to the area this summer from Orlando, and have already fallen in love with the Stockton community. When I’m not at school, you can probably find me at home reading a book with my dog nearby. I can't wait to meet my next group of students (and parents!) and start another great school year.

For the second year in a row…. We had our Stockton alumni graduating seniors join us for a final walk around the halls of Stockton. They followed our 5th graders for their final clap out showing them what possibilities are out there. Thank you to our seniors for joining us and thank you for being great role models to our kiddos! You all will do amazing things in life and we are proud of you!!
