FREE Summer meals are underway across Katy ISD, giving children access to free breakfast and lunch while school is out.

Children 18 and younger can receive meals at participating Katy ISD campuses throughout the summer. Breakfast and lunch are available at elementary campuses, with lunch service offered at select high schools.

Twenty-seven Katy ISD seniors have earned college-sponsored National Merit Scholarships, placing them among the nation’s top academic achievers.

Representing six high schools across the district, these students advanced through one of the country’s most competitive scholarship programs, standing out among more than 1.3 million students nationwide.

From 1 to 3 p.m. at Youngblood Elementary School, candidates will have the opportunity to meet campus leaders, explore current elementary teaching vacancies and interview on site for the 2026-2027 school year.

Summer learning continues across Katy ISD as 10,317 students stay connected to the classroom through the district’s virtual summer school program.

With 58 online courses available, students are taking advantage of flexible opportunities to recover credits, advance coursework and stay academically engaged during the summer months.

The strong participation reflects families’ continued trust in Katy ISD’s high-quality learning experiences and highlights the District’s leadership in virtual education.

Learning does not follow one path and neither do students.

Legacy Virtual High School offers flexible online learning opportunities for students across Texas through Katy ISD. Whether students need a full-time virtual program or individual online courses, LVHS provides access to certified teachers, academic support and a schedule built around their goals.

🏆⚾ STATE CHAMPS meet Space Cowboys!

The Katy High School softball team took their championship to a whole new galaxy Thursday as the Sugar Land Space Cowboys honored the Tigers for their 2026 UIL 6A Division II State Championship at Constellation Field.

Congratulations to the Tigers on a championship season for the ages!

Supporting one of Texas’ largest school districts takes planning, space and a commitment to meeting the needs of a growing student population every day.

From geysers and glaciers to lava tunnels and humpback whales, learning did not stop when the school year ended for a group of current and former Seven Lakes Junior High teachers exploring Iceland this summer.

Traveling around the entire island, the educators experienced hands-on learning through geothermal landscapes, waterfalls, puffin sightings, the midnight sun and the fissure between two continental plates, bringing back real-world experiences and inspiration for the classroom.
