Our Admin Team had the opportunity to present a session titled “Culture on Purpose” at the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals conference today. We were blown away by the turnout, the positive feedback we received, and the number of Katy ISD friends and colleagues who came to support us. What an honor to represent SLJH and share about our awesome school!

Congratulations to our State Champions!
Chamber Orchestra was awarded 1st place in the annual Texas Honor Orchestra Competition!
The Spartan Symphony Orchestra was also recognized as a finalist in the Full Orchestra competition!

History made!
For the first time in school history, our Science Olympiad team competed at the Science Olympiad National Tournament and delivered a great performance, finishing 13th out of 60 of the top teams in the country!
To put that into perspective, there are more than 7,000 middle school Science Olympiad teams nationwide. Our students rose to the very top tier. Even more impressive, we were the highest-ranking newcomer team in the entire country!
This outstanding accomplishment is a direct reflection of who we are as a campus. Our team truly lived out our creed: Spartans Lead and Protect, Spartans are Disciplined, and Spartans Never Quit. Their commitment, perseverance, and teamwork were on full display on the national stage.
A huge thank you to our incredible coaches, Mrs. Shearer and Mr. Kiehnhoff, for their leadership, dedication, and belief in our students every step of the way.
We couldn’t be prouder of how our Spartans represented our school!
Nationals 2026 was just the beginning…we’re already setting our sights on making it back again next year!
