⚡ One Riff Every Guitarist Should Try
Want to sound cool right away? Learn the opening riff to “Smoke on the Water.” It’s simple, iconic, and sounds great even on one string!
Playing riffs like this keeps practice fun and reminds you why you picked up the guitar in the first place. Music should be enjoyable — not just exercises and drills.

🔊 Why Do My Chords Sound Buzzy?
Buzzing notes are one of the most common beginner struggles. Here are three quick fixes:
Fingertips only – press with the tips, not the pads.
Closer to the fret – aim just behind the metal fret, not in the middle of the space.
Check your thumb – keep it behind the neck, not peeking over the top.
With these small adjustments, you’ll get cleaner chords instantly.
👉 In lessons at Legacy Music Kennesaw, I’ll help you troubleshoot technique so you sound clear and confident faster.
🎶 Short Practices Beat Marathon Sessions
Think you need hours of practice to improve? Not true. Consistency wins every time. Even 10 focused minutes a day is better than one long session at the end of the week.
Try this: pick a single skill (like switching between G and D chords) and give it your full attention for 10 minutes. End by playing something fun so you leave practice inspired, not frustrated.
Small steps add up faster than you think — and that’s how real progress is made.

🥁 Are You Rushing or Dragging?
Many guitarists focus so much on notes that they forget about rhythm. Here’s a tip: tap your foot when you play.
Your foot becomes a built-in metronome, helping you feel the beat instead of just counting it. If you want to level it up, practice with a real metronome and try clapping rhythms before playing them on the guitar.
Solid rhythm makes your playing instantly sound more professional — even with just simple chords!
👉 At Legacy Music Kennesaw, I’ll show you fun ways to lock into rhythm so you sound tight and confident.
🎸 Struggling with Chord Changes?
One of the biggest roadblocks for new guitarists is that awkward pause when moving between chords. Here’s a simple trick: practice “ghost changes.”
Without strumming, move your fingers back and forth between two chords as smoothly as possible. Start slow, then gradually add rhythm. This builds muscle memory so your hands “remember” where to go before your brain even has to think about it.
Small daily reps = faster transitions. Try it for 5 minutes a day and you’ll notice real progress in just a week!
